Chef Daiya Kobayashi opens Koba Lounge in Malmö

Drawing on izakaya culture and his international background, the new restaurant focuses on seasonal Japanese flavours in an informal dining experience.

Kobayashi grew up in Tokyo, was educated in the UK, and spent much of his career across Southeast Asia in the nightlife industry before joining his family’s diamond and jewellery business. After moving to Malmö thirteen years ago, he discovered a new passion for cooking as a chef. During his time working at restaurant Quê, he began testing his soon-to- be concept as a pop-up.
