Falstaff Wine Auction: a wide range of high-quality rarities coming under the hammer

From ‘Chateau Latour 1961’ to ‘Premier Grand Cru Mouton Rothschild’: around 1700 top-quality bottles will be offered in 670 lots at prices that are mostly 50 per cent below market value.

The Dorotheum and Falstaff are once again launching a high-quality wine auction online with 1700 bottles available at some unbelievable prices. Among the numerous rarities are 47 bottles of the Premier Grand Cru Mouton Rothschild, with the most expensive bottle in the auction a jeroboam (4.5litre) of the legendary Chateau Latour vintage 1961 from Bordeaux; the asking price for this world rarity, stored in the wine cellar of the Palais Kinsky in Vienna for 30 years, is €18,000, with estimates that bids could reach the €30,000 mark.
