For guests who shy away from the light, it could be a paradise in the future; a hotel is being built deep underground beneath one of Stockholm's busiest streets. The concept focuses on tranquility in the heart of the city, functional design, and the consistent use of existing spaces. You won't find any windows here.

Beautiful views will be few and far between at the new hotel, which is set to open in 2027 on Drottninggatan, one of Stockholm's most famous shopping streets. "Scandic Hotels" and the real estate developer "Axfast" are planning a new "Scandic Go" that will be partially underground. To this end, former retail and warehouse spaces are being converted into mixed-use developments featuring hotel rooms, office space, and stores.
