Sweet Sensation: Croatian village bakes the world's longest apple strudel

Two tons of flour, three tons of apples makes an edible record: the world's longest apple strudel was baked in Croatia last weekend.

Some world records are curious; some exciting; and some are delicious. Last weekend, the Croatian village of Jaskovo was the scene of a record-breaking baking competition. As the centerpiece of the 10th Strudel Festival, numerous amateur bakers gathered to bake the longest apple strudel in the world. The attempt was successful: The finished strudel was a total of 3.136 kilometers long and duly entered into the Guinness Book of Records after precise measuring by officials. A whopping two tons of flour and three tons of apples were used to make the strudel.
