The European Union paves the way for non-alcoholic organic wine

Non-alcoholic wines are booming – but until now, organic winegrowers were excluded: anyone who removed alcohol lost their organic certification. That is now changing.

Good news for organic winegrowers: Effective immediately, they can dealcoholize their wine without losing their organic certification. A corresponding amendment to the EU's Organic Regulations makes this possible. This means that organic wines can now also be non-alcoholic – an important step, as the demand for dealcoholized wines is growing steadily.
