"Smoking Allowed" Bars in Zurich
The Kronenhalle bar is a Zurich institution: cocktails that have set the standard for decades are mixed under paintings by Miró and Klee. The iconic lights were designed by Diego Giacometti especially for this location. Here, art, history and bar culture come together quite naturally.
Above the clouds, cocktail enjoyment must be limitless: on the 25th floor of the Prime Tower, the Clouds Bar offers panoramic views over Zurich, the Limmat and the Alps. Seasonal cocktails, some with the bar's own gin, and fine bar snacks complement the elegant ambience. Perfect for sunset moments over the city.
The Tina Bar is a Zurich original. The bar is decorated entirely in Bordeaux red and has a Parisian moulin rouge vibe with its elegant velvety sofas. The bartenders here are old school and feel particularly at home with the classics. If you like, you can enhance the experience with a pair of oysters.
Cranberry has been a favourite meeting place for Zurich's LGBTQ scene for almost 30 years. Excellent cocktails are mixed here in a relaxed and open atmosphere. The friendly bar team is happy to make recommendations and ensure a good atmosphere. Special events are also organised on a regular basis.
The rooftop bar in Bahnhofstrasse lives for the panorama. From here, the view extends over rooftops, church towers and the Uetliberg, while Spritz, Champagne or a signature cocktail shimmer in your glass. The long bar inside has a cosmopolitan flair, while outside it is one of the best places for aperitifs with a view over Zurich.
The bar at Coco on Paradeplatz is small, cosy and completely fumoir. Those who dock here sip Champagne or cocktails while the air smells of cigars and wanderlust. More aft deck than bar, a place for convivial aperitifs and late-night drinks. And yes: it can also be hired if you want to have the whole ship to yourself.
