The Best Wine Bars in Oslo
Territoriet is a popular eatery in the lower part of the trendy Grünerløkka district, characterized by its warm and welcoming atmosphere. Since opening in 2014, it has become an institution known for its relaxed vibe and exceptional wine list - reputedly the largest selection of open wines in Oslo. A tempting selection of cold cuts, cheeses and other small snacks completes the experience.
Nektar is located in a charming wooden house in the historic Fredensborgveien district and has been one of the most popular wine bars in Oslo since it opened in 2019. Reservations are therefore highly recommended - but it's also worth waiting for a table for those who haven't booked. Owner Veslemøy Hvidsten offers an excellent selection of wines by the glass, complemented by a menu of refined small dishes. The "Nektar" is always worth a visit!
Radegast in Nedre Foss Gård - a historic building in the Grünerløkka district of Oslo, directly opposite the Vulkan food hall - is a wine bar with depth and character. The selection is impressively diverse, with between 800 and 900 varieties and a pleasingly eclectic range of wines by the glass: just tell them your preferences and the team will open something suitable. Regular tastings are held twice a week, accompanied by a matching menu of snacks and small dishes.
A welcome surprise in the bustling center of Aker Brygge, "Oh Dear" is a small, inviting wine bar with an impressive selection. The passion for Californian wines is unmistakable and is complemented by an excellent selection from the Old and New World. In addition to the wines, guests can choose from a tempting menu of small dishes, from oysters to cold cuts and cheese.
In Norway's "oil capital" Stavanger, Norvald is one of the most exciting new openings. This elegant wine bar was founded in 2022 and focuses on wines from Burgundy, California and Piedmont. However, the impressive selection of around 400 wines offers something for every taste. A small but fine menu with charcuterie, cheese and olives rounds off the offer perfectly.
It may be an exaggeration to call the "Chat d'Or" a wine bar in the strictest sense, but its Francophile coziness and impressive selection of open champagnes, red and white wines make it an irresistible place. The spirit of joie de vivre can be felt everywhere - an atmosphere that captivates guests and leaves them wanting another glass of champagne. You can't go wrong here with oysters or a carefully curated selection of French cheeses.
