Emirates plans private bathrooms in First Class
Landing freshly showered and refreshed - this is soon to become the new luxury at Emirates. The airline is planning to install private bathrooms in First Class.
Above the clouds, freedom seems limitless - and not just in the old hit of the same name. Major airlines are currently outdoing each other with ever more private, comfortable and sophisticated first class concepts. Emirates is now planning to further transform the First Class flight experience into that of a luxury hotel: the next step will be dedicated bathrooms.
Separate bathrooms at Emirates soon?
At the Airline Leader Summit 2026 in Berlin, Emirates President Tim Clark made people sit up and take notice; in future, first-class suites could have their own bathrooms. "I'm working on bathrooms right in the first-class suites," Clark said, according to the Daily Express. He continues: "I want everyone to hear this so that they all run straight away and find out how they can install bathrooms in first-class suites."
Experience like in the luxury hotel industry
Ultimately, this expansion would be an extension of the current concept. The Emirates A380 First Class already offers an exclusive shower experience at 39,000 feet with its two "shower spas". Guests have five minutes of running water at their disposal to freshen up and will find high-quality Bulgari care products, towels and a hairdryer.
The price for this comfort is correspondingly high: a First Class connection between Frankfurt and Dubai can quickly cost several thousand euros. In return, travelers receive an experience that is increasingly oriented towards the luxury hotel industry.

The fact that this development is already well advanced is shown by the competition: Etihad Airways offers The Residence: a three-room suite including its own bathroom; a concept that is often described as a flying apartment.
