"Barrier-free" Bars in Germany
Of course you can just order a glass of beer, wine or Champagne. But that would be boring, because the team here is always on the lookout for new "classic & twist" drinks and likes to incorporate wacky syrups. Cool masterclasses and regular guest appearances by cocktail bar friends make things exciting.
In August 2025, the elegant and cosy bar celebrated its tenth anniversary. As well as plenty of party evenings, this was also a good reason to add some new discoveries to the cocktail menu - from the dry and tart Jägermeister-based "One Shot" to the exotic "Silver Fig" with kota pandan liqueur, Imperii gin and fig.
When you order a "Classic Martini" while sitting in a comfortable armchair, the trolley comes over and the drink is mixed live. More exclusivity is hardly possible. The highly trained bar team also spoils its club guests with an impressive range of spirits and great Champagne cocktails.
Lots of greenery dominates the hotel bar, which is decorated with a small world of plants. The centrepiece of the modern and cosy location are 16 signature drinks, some of which are refined with unusual ingredients such as caraway, fennel or coriander. The matching herbs come fresh from the green bar wall.
The former office of founder Friedrich Haerlin offers cosy luxury over two floors with a view of the Alster. The classic art of bartending is celebrated here. Sit comfortably in the Rolls-Royce armchairs while Enrico Wilhelm and his team mix sophisticated drinks., or would you prefer one of the 70 whisk(e)ys and 25 gins?
Situated in the centre of the station district, this unpretentious, trendy location is a mixture of bistro and bar. Signature drinks such as "Sheriff" with gin and melon or "Yaldy Spritz" with sour cherry and yuzu are the heroes in a glass. The kitchen brings a variety of flavours to the plates, from sandwiches to fried chicken.
Experience gastronomy at its finest in the Floating Chair. However, you should allow three hours or more to experience the sometimes Asian, sometimes classic, sometimes ultra-modern inspired dishes. Restaurateur Marc Leuwer has his nose to the wind and knows exactly what the people of Karlsruhe want at Hirschhof. Classic drinks with a twist, sometimes barrel-aged, which are best sipped at the city's most architecturally successful bar counter. Only the best landlords manage to keep a place named after themselves going forever. Wilfried Schöllmann, meanwhile, appeals to many groups of guests at the same time. The atmosphere in the Provocateur Bar in City West is seductively lascivious. Red velvet armchairs, opulent décor and the burlesque design allow guests to immerse themselves in the wild Berlin and Paris of the 1920s. The bar team mixes its own creative creations, each accompanied by a matching bar food.
The bar, named after a galloping winning gallop, would have to be listed as a historical monument if the hotel wasn't already listed. It's no surprise that the prices for Kir Royal and Bellini are on the high end. If you still have money left over afterwards, order oysters and caviar, wagyu burgers and cheesecake.
Restaurant, bar, event location or simply the place to be? Heidelberg would be inconceivable without this location with its ideal transport links. The chairs are as comfortable as the cocktails are perfectly mixed - the range of cigars is also worth a look. Attention: no bar reservations!
Inspiring place for ambitious cocktail hunters. Here, Anastasia and Filip serve creative signature drinks and excellent bar food that inspire the mind and body. Special recommendation: the "Aperitivo Tasting Flight" (45 euros, 5 to 7.30 pm), where three mini cocktails are served with matching snacks.
Ring the bell and don't be alarmed when the Mad Hatter opens. The enchanted bar near the fairytale fountain is mysterious, and drinks such as "Cheshire Cat" or "Queen of Hearts" from the truly magical bar menu are also magical. And of course, "Cinderella" is served in a glass slipper.
In the very "pompous" and slightly irritating ambience (the dazzling brocade wallpaper was created by fashion designer Harald Glööckler), you will find a seasoned hotel bar with the best gin supply. The wonderfully designed bar menu features gin classics with a sophisticated twist such as "Hanky Panky" or "Charlie Chaplin".
