"Burger" Street Food Restaurants in Lower Austria
Heinz and Dominik don't just love the flavor magic of bacon, chicken, and chili burgers—they also know all the tricks to delight veggie lovers. That's how they whip up veggie burgers and sweet potato fries out of thin air. The food truck is also a hit at private events.
"Gute Burger" offers a huge selection (including smash burgers and vegan options) that can be delivered or picked up at their locations in Vienna or Tulln. The menu is rounded out by nuggets called “Crazy Chicken,” salads, a wide variety of sauces, and drinks.
The food truck is parked at the Sauer Driving School’s training lot, which is fitting: When Thomas and Dunja aren’t serving up great street food, they’re hopping on their bikes. The burgers (with a beef patty or grilled cheese) come with crispy, homemade-style fries. Also on the menu: Filli Dog and currywurst.
Bicycles and hair dryers dangle from airplane seats and plush sofas: With its colorful, quirky interior mix, 2Stein is a cult favorite in Krems; the food has an American diner vibe, featuring steaks, fries, and burritos, great breakfast burgers, and the best soft-serve ice cream far and wide.
You’re in for a treat at “Haberei”—and this has nothing to do with nepotism: The spare ribs smoked over hickory wood and served with BBQ sauce are addictive, and the vegan burgers with pea-based patties are a hit with vegetarians, too. Finish off with a mousse or tartlet.
Here, you’ll feel a bit like you’re in the living room of Herzogenburg. Comfort foods like smashed burgers and chicken specials, as well as international street food classics like burrito con carne and shawarma wraps, invite you to relax and unwind. Plus: soups and salads.
Burgers, bowls, and craft beer are the specialties at Schmid’s in downtown Krems. From here, you can embark on a culinary journey around the world: from A for Acropolis Bowl to Z for lemongrass-coconut-sweet potato soup. Special feature: New York-style pastrami sandwich.
VELOwelle is the perfect destination for cyclists, as the beach bar is located right on the Danube. But everyone else can also sit back in a lounge chair with a view of the water and enjoy a variety of fries—from red and white to garlic and truffle—as well as Krautwurscht or BBQ pulled pork.
Burger lovers will find it hard to resist this: The “Ludwig Burger” combines 16 hours of apple-smoked brisket with coleslaw and BBQ sauce. At the same time, creative vegetarian options like the broccoli-quinoa patty show just how exciting plant-based burgers can be today.
Making great burgers is an art—and in Mödling, they pull it off effortlessly. The place is bustling, and they serve the city via an e-scooter delivery service. Freshly baked buns are paired with patties made from Austrian beef and locally sourced vegetables. Super-crispy fries and vegan options.
Here, burgers are loved and lived. What does this passion taste like? Think juicy beef, tangy Emmental cheese, grilled bacon, caramelized onions, and homemade sauce—that’s what you get when you order the “Meisterstück.” Great for a quick bite: the mini-burgers.
In the mood for KUHnstwerke? At the Burgertempel in Krems, the “Mexican,” “Hipster,” and “The Noble” don’t just look like works of art—they’re also made with high-quality ingredients, such as 100 percent Austrian beef. If you’d rather eat at home, you can have your favorite burger delivered via KUHrier.
