"Sunday Opening" Bars in Stuttgart
Of course you can just order a glass of beer, wine or Champagne. But that would be boring, because the team here is always on the lookout for new "classic & twist" drinks and likes to incorporate wacky syrups. Cool masterclasses and regular guest appearances by cocktail bar friends make things exciting.
For some, the creative drink decorations are the real reason for a visit, others want to hear the story of the classic cocktail called Hanky Panky. But the bar with its pretty outdoor area also has a modern feel, as the seasonally inspired creations are legendary. Nachos are the perfect accompaniment.
Day and night: Christoph Kuttner and Henri Scharnofske have set the tone with their bar. Creative mixology triumphs here: classics, newcomers and their own ideas are perfectly prepared and served as fresh, light cocktails and drinks. A favourite is the "Raspberry Fields Forever".
Knud Scheibelt's living room radiates the kind of serenity that only the really big bars have. Hardly anyone in Stuttgart knows more about malt whisky than the boss. Drinks from the 20th or even the 19th century can also be mixed - and the homemade vermouth is a big hit.
A bar that merely calls itself a "bar" must have endless self-confidence. That's right, and for good reason. Where else can you order a so-called Gedeck which is a combination of whisk(e)y and beer. For the regular Sunday concerts you can book rum seminars and enjoy a fine cigar with your cocktail. Only here!
It's not just the chic, modern ambience that makes the day bar a sociable place. The friendly team spoils guests with all kinds of small treats, snacks and, of course, a well thought-out range of aperitifs, drinks and cocktails. You can shake a leg in the backroom.
For the aperitif - it starts at 6 pm! - there is nothing better in Stuttgart than the slightly nostalgic-looking bar with brick walls and the most stylish seating in the Swabian metropolis. Classics are mixed as well as original creations. Oh yes: the late-night digestif is especially fun here.
Something like this is probably only possible in the big city: a stylish bar on the edge of the red light district that offers more than – the rather brilliant! - drinks from the menu. Rum or wine tasting can be booked as well as cocktail courses for beginners and the advanced. The Dirty Martini is hard to beat in Stuttgart.
The terrace is the place to be for Stuttgart's chic crowd, but there is also flair inside. The fact that the name o.T. means something different to everyone doesn't detract from the pleasure. "Without deadline pressure" seems to be the most logical explanation! Lemberger from here and gin from elsewhere suit the style of the bar equally well.
