Medium carmine-garnet color with ochre highlights and a broader lightening at the rim. Hints of red cherries, red wild berry jam, a delicate note of cloves, and a touch of caramel. Full-bodied, firm, with pronounced tannins and underlying red fruit; still seems a bit austere, but will benefit from bottle aging.
