Aria Suite: Cathay Pacific Raises the Bar for Luxury Travel
With the new Business Class Aria Suite, Cathay Pacific aims to elevate the passenger experience to new heights. Here's what you can expect.
The moment you step into the new Business Class cabins, it’s clear: the brand-new Aria Suite will turn every long-haul flight into an exceptional experience. Every design element has been carefully selected and tailored to take the in-flight experience to the next level. To achieve this, the Customer Experience & Design team worked closely with JPA Design. As a long-standing partner of the airline, the company understands the diverse needs of today’s business travelers.
“The seat is more than just a seat—it’s a bed, a private cinema, an office, and a dining area. That’s why we had to design a suite that combines the perfect ambiance with optimal design elements,” explains Vivian Lo, General Manager Customer Experience and Design at Cathay. Accordingly, great emphasis was placed on the seat’s design, enhanced privacy with a private door and sliding partitions, and the use of premium materials. The seat, which can be converted into a fully flat bed at the touch of a button, is lined with soft Rohi wool. Finely embroidered leather in the storage compartments adds an extra touch of elegance to the Aria Suite.
Intelligent technologies
Experienced travelers know that aesthetics are not everything. To stay productive or truly unwind above the clouds, smart technology is essential. The lighting system, for example, is fully adjustable, allowing passengers to choose between soft lighting for relaxation or brighter illumination for work.
For moments when entertainment is the priority, passengers can enjoy 24-inch screens with 4K resolution and Bluetooth audio connectivity—creating an almost private cinema experience. The screen also serves as the central control unit for adjusting lighting and seat position. Additional details, such as discreet storage compartments with integrated lighting, further highlight the airline’s commitment to an enhanced in-flight experience.
An Artistic Journey
Aria Suite guests can also look forward to a new level of artistic enjoyment. Thirty specially commissioned artworks adorn the walls of the new Business Class cabins. “Each piece incorporates an element of nature because we want to create a calm and relaxing atmosphere on board—but the artistic interpretation of this idea is highly diverse,” says Lo. The artworks are created by artists with a deep connection to Hong Kong, which is reflected in their work.

So far, travelers can experience the new Aria Suite on flights from Hong Kong to London, Osaka, Taipei, and Singapore. Not all Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft have been upgraded to the new Aria Suite yet, but that is set to change gradually.
