Tour operator reports 300 per cent increase in bookings after travel relaxations
Goodbye wanderlust!
Sharp rise: Following the announcement by some German states that hotels and restaurants will soon be re open, the adventure travel specialist records Ameropa one Tripling of booking figures compared to the previous week. Demand among German holidaymakers is particularly strong for trips within Germany and Switzerland.
Active holidays become a trend
Cycling and hiking trips are also very popular with holidaymakers. When traveling at home, most holidaymakers from Germany opt for popular regions such as the North Sea and Baltic Sea, the Bavarian Alps and Lake Constance. Cities with a lot of greenery, such as Dresden, Freiburg and Hamburg, also recorded significant growth, according to a recent analysis by the Bad Homburg-based tour operator. When traveling in Switzerland, rail hiking offers and rail adventure tours are particularly popular.
Summer holiday within reach
"The enormous growth in bookings proves that people are literally sitting on packed suitcases", summarizes Stephanie Schulze zur Wiesch, Managing Director of Ameropa. "Summer vacation is within reach for many people. The current progress in coronavirus vaccinations is also contributing to this. However, due to the expected run on popular travel destinations in Germany in particular, holidaymakers should decide quickly, as hotel and vacation accommodation capacities are limited."
Flex-Rate offers protection in case of cancellation
The specialist for short-haul destinations has further expanded its portfolio in recent months and offers customers a wide range of options for a varied vacation.
