You were born in Veneto and now live in Milan. What else connects you to Venice?
It still feels like home. I appreciate the architecture, the atmosphere and also the food so much, so I always like to return here.
Where do you go to experience typical Venetian flair?
Definitely at the Rialto Market, one of the oldest markets in the city. Except for Sundays, it is open every day and there is always something to discover. Nearby you will also find many "bàcari" where people like to meet standing for a spritz and some delicious Cicchetti.
Which is your favorite part of town?
I love the Jewish quarter. It is extremely rich in history and one of the oldest, most traditional neighbourhoods in the city. It is located on a small island, which is connected to the rest of the city by two bridges. It is definitely not to be missed as a visitor to Venice.
Where do you prefer to shop?
I could browse for hours every time I go to the Libreria Acqua Alta. It's the most famous bookstore in the city - and possibly the most beautiful in the world. The name means "high water," which not only suits Venice well, but literally becomes a problem on a regular basis. Water keeps getting into the store, which is why the books are creatively stored. From bathtubs to canoes to a gondola, there's a storage space for everything. It's a must-see!
Where can you be found on weekends?
I like to walk along the Giudecca Canal to Squero San Trovaso and watch the old gondolas before meeting friends at "Cà D'Oro alla Vedova" for cicchetti, small snacks, or going to La Zucca for dinner.
