Brachetto is a red wine variety that is found almost exclusively in southern Piedmont, Italy finds. It has been used for many centuries in the provinces of Asti and Alessandria">Alessandria cultivated.
Brachetto is an aromatic variety from which sweet and liqueur-like wines are made. Almost varietal Brachetto wines can be found at DOCG wine Brachetto d'Acqui and the Piemonte Brachetto. The grape variety is also permitted in Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato. The Brachetto d'Acqui is slightly sparkling and has a taste reminiscent of strawberries.
