The Rossese di Campochiesa is a red wine variety that is occasionally grown in Liguria and was for a long time confused with the Rossese di Dolceaqua - in France this variety is called Tibouren. Unfortunately, nothing is known about their origins and origins. The Rossese, as the name suggests, is mainly cultivated around Champochiesa near Genoa on the Ligurian coast. Only a few producers still produce Rossese di Campochiesa today, but if they do, they do so in a pure variety. The wines are mostly light and intended for early consumption. Because of the confusion with the Rossese di Dolceaqua, it was previously not entirely clear whether wines were made from the Rossese di Champochiesa variety in other places in Liguria, but today it is certain that in the vast majority of cases it is the Rossese di Dolceaqua grape variety. The Rossese di Campochiesa does not occur outside Liguria. The wines of this variety are rare and rather expensive due to the difficult cultivation on the steep terraces of Liguria.
