"Ramen" Street Food Restaurants in Cologne
Tonkotsu stands for highly flavoured, intense, creamy and rich ramen broths. They are cooked for many hours from pork bones and pork head. No wonder it tastes so good. Extra umami can be found in the Mala Spicy Ramen or in the Surf&Turf Tonkotsu with salmon.
If you like it strong, flavoursome and full-bodied, Takumi 4 is the place for you. The focus here is on ramen in a spicy broth with sesame paste and soya milk. There are also all kinds of other ramen variations, various gyoza and donburi.
Behind the eccentric ramen and cocktail bar is Little Link owner and mixologist Stephan Hinz. No wonder that high-end drinks are served with the sometimes slightly crazy ramen creations like Punky Tonic with yuzu raspberry gin and shiso with popcorn tan tan ramen with beef.
Although the Cologne offshoot does not match the soup excellence and ambience of the Düsseldorf original, the ramen is still basically subtle. Ebi Tako Tan Tan Men with prawns and takoyaki and the special spicy ramen tastes good. Allow for a wait at peak times.
When one of Japan's largest ramen chains, with more than 250 branches worldwide, sets up shop in Cologne, you can look forward to at least rock-solid, authentic noodle soups. Gyoza and takoyaki taste even better. The ambience is a little sober: canteen flair.
