The Best Bars in Brandenburg
The blue tiles on the walls tell old and new Potsdam history: once there was a butcher's shop here, after reunification the popular Rückholz, now Ronny Rammelt runs the restaurant, which has become a wonderful hybrid of café - with cinema seats, coffee and homemade cakes - and classic cocktail bar.
"Murks" is the name of the latest summer drink at Bar Fritz'n. It is a smart fresh creation with gin, cucumber spirit, melon and a splash of lemon, and is an example of the successful mix of ingenuity, craftsmanship and, not least, friendly humour that prevails in this always friendly bar.
A cosy atmosphere in the historic brick vaults along with personal advice directly at the bar, what could be better? In Potsdam's oldest bar the bartenders know what goes into the cocktails and patiently ask guests for their favourite flavours, which then harmonise in well-mixed cocktails.
There's no need for a lot of advertising, the friendly neighbourhood bar is always well frequented anyway. In addition to classic spritz in several variations and good craft beer, the menu also includes very good signature cocktails that change regularly. Latest invention: "Pickle juice lemonade" with gherkin, tastes good with or without vodka.
Good Californian-Mexican fusion cuisine is served in the green greenhouse on the northern outskirts of the city. To accompany quesadillas, spare ribs or burgers, the professional bar team offers a wide range of classic cocktails such as "Marguerita" (also in a 1.5-litre pitcher), "Planters Punch" or "Long Island Ice Tea".
