Althoff opens new »Urban Retreat« in Frankfurt

Frankfurt

With the new hotel "The Florentin", the Althoff Group aims to create a retreat from November that combines the elegance of the historic villa with clear design.

From November, Frankfurt am Main will have one more special address: with The Florentin, the Althoff Group is opening an "urban retreat" that is intended to be a place of peace, inspiration and hospitality. The design of the historic villa from 1901 has been reinterpreted with modern elements; thanks to natural light effects, it becomes a relaxed retreat.

The historic villa as the centerpiece

Once the residence of the renowned Frankfurt Speyer family, the villa combines history, art and culture. The house with lounge, library, dining room, conservatory and wine lounge was redesigned by the design studio "Atelier Zürich", while retaining the historic substance of the villa. From 2006 until its closure, it was the location of the renowned "Villa Kennedy" of the Rocco Forte Hotels.

The lushly planted inner courtyard, which gives the retreat its name - derived from the Latin word for "blooming" - forms the soul of the house.

Quiet Luxury

The design and architecture in the guest areas, conceived by "Unscripted Design", follow a minimalist aesthetic. Clear lines, natural materials and colors as well as sensual textures radiate harmony and elegance. Woods, including chestnut with a striking grain, meet stone. Bronze details and custom-made lamps with silk shades add a warm touch.

Whether in the 147 rooms and suites, in the lobby with its leafy arcade, in the three restaurants or in the spa - "The Florentin" is a peaceful oasis in the city.

Lighting concept creates a cocooning effect

Particular emphasis was placed on playing with light during the renovation. The lobby, corridors and bar are dramatically illuminated, creating a special atmosphere that suggests calm and balance.
