Dubai: glossy backdrop on the Persian Gulf
Dubai's nightlife tells the story of a country that rose from a fishing village to a glittering world metropolis in just a few decades. The celebration of luxury knows no bounds here.
Dubai's nightlife tells the story of a country between West and East that has risen from a fishing village to a shining world metropolis in just a few decades. The skyline, the luxury hotels and the malls reflect the ambition to achieve world-class standards everywhere.
Dubai puts on a spectacular show
The party scene is international, cosmopolitan and characterized by expats - the Dubai jet set includes wealthy business people as well as influencers and showbiz celebrities. Champagne bottles are popped in beach clubs and on rooftop terraces to toast successful (and sometimes dubious) deals; the Dubai Fountain Show at the foot of the Burj Khalifa is one of the few free pleasures. Dubai presents itself as cosmopolitan - yet it is part of the emirate's self-image to stage everything spectacularly without relinquishing control; there are limits to debauchery, at least in theory. But if you bring money and play by the rules, you can have (almost) anything in Dubai.
The "Soho Garden" is a wild combination of different areas and settings: the cool, glass pavilion, the tiki bar with tropical palm trees and wood carvings, the Champagne lounge, the two-storey Negroni bar (like a cocktail sculpture), the dance floor with top sound system, where top international DJs play either techno, house or hip-hop - the entertainment complex is a restaurant, nightclub, open-air bar, pool and garden all in one.
Dubai - a luxurious spectacle
Like a mirage that has become reality, this place expresses the essence of Dubai: not historically grown, but artificially created as a luxurious spectacle of globalized entertainment. The acts are just as imported as the audience. The fact that the futuristic and decadent Meydan racecourse is next door fits in perfectly with the picture.
Most bars and clubs, such as the Soho Garden, are located in hotels – alcohol can be served there, and it flows abundantly: in the "Vault" in the "JW Marriott Marquis", in "The Penthouse Dubai" in the "Five Palm Jumeirah" or in the "Gilt Bar" in the Burj Al Arab. The gastronomy is international, many star chefs have opened branches; big names like "Nobu" and "Zuma" meet the taste. Dining should have experience value, for example in the "Amelia Bar" in a futuristic steampunk design. The costs are secondary, superlatives are inevitable: The "Atmosphere" on the 122nd floor of the Burj Khalifa is one of the tallest restaurants ever; in the world's tallest skyscraper. At "La Perle" with its acrobatics and water show, Dubai is reminiscent of Vegas.
