The storied Hamburg hotel “Louis C. Jacob” is joining Marriott’s Autograph Collection – opening its doors to an international audience.

Louis C. Jacob on Hamburg's Elbchaussee becomes part of Marriott International's Autograph Collection Hotels. From July 22, 2025, the hotel will be officially integrated into the global brand portfolio, which comprises more than 330 individually managed hotels. The aim of this step is to increase the international visibility of the traditional hotel , which was founded in 1791.

"This partnership is a strategic milestone that takes the history of our hotel into the future," explains Marek Andryszak, CEO of DSR Hotel Holding, which continues to operate the hotel. The Hamburg-based operating company is a joint venture between DSR GmbH and the DERTOUR Group.

International platform, local character

By joining the brand, Louis C. Jacob gains access to Marriott's distribution and loyalty structures - including the Bonvoy program with over 235 million members worldwide. In future, guests will be able to collect and redeem points, for example for overnight stays or upgrades. At the same time, the hotel will be listed via Marriott's global booking channels.

According to the operator, the hotel’s concept will remain unchanged: the name, amenities, and pricing structure will stay the same, and so will its artistic focus and Hanseatic-style hospitality, says hotel director Judith Fuchs-Eckhoff. “The unique character of our hotel will remain fully intact,” she emphasizes. “Our history, our art collection, and our special location on the Elbe will continue to be the heart of the property.”

A house with history

Louis C. Jacob is one of Hamburg's best-known hotels. It has 84 individually designed rooms and suites, the Michelin-starred Jacobs Restaurant under chef Thomas Martin and the Kleines Jacob wine bar. The Lindenterrasse with a view of the Elbe was made famous by a painting by Max Liebermann. Cultural events, an extensive art collection and the historical ambience characterize the profile of the house.
