Whether it’s a burrito roll or a pill organizer, these five simple tricks will help you pack your carry-on even more efficiently.

Whether you're going on a short trip or simply want to do without large checked baggage: Small suitcases often fit more than you think. To save a little more space on your next flight, we reveal five simple tricks for the perfectly packed suitcase.

1. roll it!

A tried and tested classic: roll your clothes instead of folding them. But the absolute packing pros go one step further and use the "burrito trick". You put a shirt in front of you and shorts or a skirt in the middle. The sleeves are folded inwards. Now place the stockings or socks on the top of the shirt so that the open sides are facing outwards, similar to a T-shape. Now roll the shirt from top to bottom. The two sock ends are now slipped over the right and left ends of the shirt roll.

2. the shoe trick

It really is worth making use of every centimeter of the suitcase. This also includes the inside of the shoes. This can be filled with socks, chargers or underwear.

3. keep it safe

Shoes in your suitcase: usually not a problem when traveling. However, anyone who has been hiking or walking through the dusty streets of Rome during their vacation will inevitably worry about dirt in their suitcase. A simple trick: the shower caps found in hotel amenity kits are ideal for protecting your shoes.

4. misappropriated

Whether rings, bracelets or necklaces: packing jewelry can be quite nerve-wracking. The chains are constantly getting caught, there are small knots that have to be painstakingly undone. Rings disappear. To get around this, all you need are straws and tablet dispensers: rings, earrings and small necklaces can be placed in the individual compartments of the tablet box. For chains, thread half the chain into the drinking straw, shortening it according to the length of the chain if necessary.

5. thinking ahead

It almost goes without saying: If you think in advance about which outfits you want or need to wear during your vacation or short trip, you can save a lot of space. You should also opt for pieces that can be combined with each other. For example, shoes that go with different pants or skirts. Tops that go with several bottoms and vice versa.
