In Lombardy, more precisely in the morainic hills between Desenzano and Salò, the red grape variety Groppello is native and known for producing spicy red wines. Here, too, a Chiaretto is pressed, but from Groppello and a mixture of other grape varieties, such as Marzemino, Barbera and Sangiovese.
