So they produce it themselves at their Caseificio—fresh, locally sourced, and sustainably made: mozzarella, burrata, and other cheeses are served in crispy panini, just the way you like them.
The cheerful jack-of-all-trades on Porzellangasse is an osteria, grocery store, and catering service all in one. What never changes? The outstanding quality and the delightful flavors that instantly transport you to Sicily with bruschetta, squid tagliatelle, and cannoli.
Antipasti, pizza, and pasta—in other words, plenty of that Southern Italian vibe—are what the Casolaro brothers bring to their restaurants in the Third and Fourth districts. There are 14 different panini alone—including the “Milano” with salami and the “Torino” with bresaola—as well as excellent pasta carbonara. And to top it all off, the cannoli is a real treat!
If you love sweet Italian pastries, Dolce Pensiero is heaven on earth. At this small, charmingly decorated café in the city center, filled croissants, fantastic cakes, and creamy gelato take center stage. If you prefer something savory, try the tramezzini and salatini.
No pizza here, but plenty of delicious pasta, bruschetta, antipasto platters, and salads are available at Pappa e Ciccia at the Rochusmarkt. As far as the number of visitors and the interior of the market stall go, it’s quite busy—but that’s okay, because it only adds to the cozy overall atmosphere.
