Falstaff Wine Guide Italy 2026

The name Kyrenia, which means mermaid in German, comes from ancient Greece, the cradle of European viticulture. Even back then, ships transported wine from Greece to Italy to bring joy to the people. This is where the winery comes in with succulent, easily accessible wines that never slip into the mainstream or even the trivial. They are intended to provide hours of enjoyment, whether drunk with meals or on their own. They produce Veneto classics such as Amarone and Valpolicella, but also - a rarity in the region - a Syrah.
