Falstaff Wine Guide Germany 2022

Even as a child, Matthias Schmidt stood in the vineyard with his father and learned the winemaking trade. He founded his own winery, Rosenhof, in 2010 in an old estate north of Heidelberg. We liked what he produced here when he made his debut in this wine guide. Schmidt seems to have a special knack for Sauvignon Blanc; the 2020 "Black Label" has a muscular style, while its little brother, the estate Sauvignon Blanc, is our special tip: exotic in aroma, juicy on the palate. We are already looking forward to next year.
