The modern Temet winery is located south of Belgrade in Lozovik above Jagodina in the Sumadija wine-growing region. The climate in this region, with its continental character, is ideal for viticulture as the rivers surrounding the region, such as the Danube and Morava, balance out any excessive climatic fluctuations. With around 2,000 hours of sunshine, the vines here get enough sun for the grapes to ripen well. The foundation of the winery in this beautiful landscape dates back to 2009, when the first vineyards were planted. Incidentally, the name Temet dates back to Roman times, when the first vines were planted here, and means "strong, powerful wine". Today, the winery cultivates 37.8 hectares spread over 19 parcels at 250 to 330 meters above sea level. With the low yields, which are deliberately cultivated here to ensure the high quality of the wines, around 200,000 bottles are produced from the harvest. The indigenous grape varieties Prokupac and Morava are cultivated, as well as Tamjanika, the local variety of Muscat à Petit Grains, and the international varieties Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Syrah. In 2018, the vineyards were converted to organic farming, thus banning all chemicals from the vineyards. Only grapes from the winery's own vineyards are used for Temet wines. The winery's production is spread across different lines, with white and red wines being bottled as single varietals or as cuvées. The wines are matured either in a mix of steel tanks and oak barrels or completely in wood. A premium wine is in preparation which will be launched on the market under the name "Gutes Jahr" in the German translation. A sparkling wine in the classic blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir rounds out the portfolio. High ratings for the wines prove that the winery has become one of the best in the country within the short time of its existence.
