The Hans Igler winery has been an Austrian family business for over 50 years. As an interface between tradition and modernity, it has been run by Clemens and his wife Anna in the third generation since the beginning of 2021. Together, they cultivate around 36 hectares of vineyards in one of the sunniest parts of Austria: the Mittelburgenland wine-growing region. The interplay of soil, climatic conditions, natural cultivation and careful cultivation of the vineyards is the basis for the first-class quality of the wines. The aim is to create new worlds of taste - with cross-generational knowledge and constant pioneering work. Blaufränkisch plays a central role in the Hans Igler winery's range. The Pannonian subcontinental climate combined with sandy loam and gravel soils support the characteristic properties of the variety and the growth of the vines. All wines are offered for tasting at the winery's branch, the Schaflerhof. The former estate of Deutschkreutz Castle has been extensively restored and now houses around 600 barrique barrels and the "Vulcano-Vinothek". As a popular excursion destination, it offers a fantastic location for weddings and events.
With the 2018 vintage, the wine bottles have a new look. The redesign of the labels creates a link between the past, present and future of the winery, while retaining the reference to Anton Lehmden's iconic works of art. Furthermore, the attention to detail and the quality of the wine are tangible with every bottle.
