The red wine Viña Tondonia Reserva Rioja DOCa, vintage 2005 from the winery Bodegas López de Heredia Viña Tondonia has been rated in 2018 by Benjamin Herzog & Dominik Vombach with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Tempranillo from the region La Rioja in Spain.
Rather closed, not attractive at first, a wine that needs time. Plums and berries can be identified as well as cool smoke. Very elegant on the palate with perfectly matured tannins and wonderful spice. With good reason, this is one of the great classics.
