The red wine Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG, vintage 2015 from the winery Cantina Colle Ciocco has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 90 Falstaff points.
Dark, vivid ruby with purple glints. The nose is redolent with dried fruit, like figs and prunes and a soft cinnamon scent, forest fruit and Amarena cherries. The medium-weight body shows tight tannins and saltiness, it is coherent and harmonious, even if it is atypical for a Sagrantino, yet drinks well.
