The red wine Carolina Barbera d'Alba Superiore DOC, vintage 2018 from the winery Cascina Val del Prete has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Barbera from the region Piedmont in Italy.
Radiant, medium ruby-violet. Opens on the nose with slightly savoury green nuances of oregano and geranium, followed by fresh cherries and raspberries. Very good tension on the palate, shows ripe fruit, vividness, very well-integrated tannins. Exhibiting excellent tension on the finish, with lovely suppleness.
