The white wine Clearview Estate Reserve Chardonnay, vintage 2020 from the winery Clearview Estate has been rated in 2022 by Anne Krebiehl with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Hawkes Bay in New Zealand.
From the oldest vines on the estate in the Te Awanga subregion, this opens with a lovely nose of brisk lemon and some flinty reduction, backed by shy notions of apricot. The palate also has a lovely hint of reduction and a rich texture with a phenolic edge of slight bitterness. It shimmers with notions of yellow plum and smoke and finishes long with bright lemon.
