The red wine Volnay Fremiet 1er Cru, vintage 2017 from the winery Domaine Marquis d’Angerville has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 94+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Pinot Noir from the region Bourgogne in France.
Closed on the nose, showing only some tar, blackcurrant and mint. In the mouth the wine has a tremendously elegant character with acidity and minerality forming a firm backbone with just the right dose of suppleness giving roundness and elegance. The fine-grained, ripe tannins are not astringent and yet give the impression of being built for the future with their juiciness. Good to very good length.
