The red wine Schioppettino Friuli Colli Orientali DOC, vintage 2020 from the winery Ermacora has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Schioppettino from the region Friuli-Venezia Giulia in Italy.
Bright ruby red with a drop of purple. Initially shows some fine vegetal savouriness on the nose, with distinct smoky tones alongside plum fruit, blackberry and leather. On the palate there's a clear fruit core with an echo of those savoury notes. There's some fine drive and still somewhat youthful tannin on the finish, leaving the sense of a well-balanced and characterful effort.
