The red wine Marciliano Umbria Rosso IGT, vintage 2019 from the winery Famiglia Cotarella has been rated in 2023 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc from the region Umbria in Italy.
Deep dark ruby, with a very slight garnet rim lightening that's almost impenetrable. A compact, elegant nose shows ripe cherry fruit, coffee beans and Mediterranean herbs. Marzipan emerges on the palate, which is juicy and builds up subtle drive thanks to ripe tannins and refreshing acidity, through to a persistent finish marked by fruit and woody spice. Lots of ageing potential.
