The red wine Chianti Rufina Riserva Vigneto Bucerchiale, vintage 1999 from the winery Fattoria Selvapiana has been rated in 2022 by Anne Krebiehl with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese
A slight funk on the nose suggests field mushroom and something slightly medicinal, slightly animalistic. Conifer and crushed herb follow once this wears off. The palate, however, is still juicy and shows quite some cherry, still luminous with freshness. Tannins are fine and drying, but shimmering with the lifted, coniferous scent of Sangiovese, always with that tart Morello cherry note. A rather serene and most aromatic, fragrant wine.
