The red wine Baccanera Lo Zoccolaio Rosso Langhe DOC, vintage 2017 from the winery Fratelli Martini Secondo Luigi has been rated in 2020 by Ulrich Sautter with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Barbera, Merlot, Nebbiolo, Cabernet Sauvignon from the region Piedmont in Italy.
This has a fine dark garnet colour, with a delicate bright rim. There are lovely aromas of ripe raspberry, cool smoke, then a slight hint of resin, and dried rose blossom. It displays a beautiful density on the palate, and it is powerful, stretching across the tongue with good drive, and tightly woven tannins accompany the slightly drying finish.
