The sweet and dessert wine PIPA XVII, vintage 2017 from the winery Franz Gojer - Glögglhof has been rated in 2020 with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the region Alto Adige in Italy.
Rich, deep dark ruby with violet glints. Opens with notes of dark bread crust, malty, then cardamom, pickled cherry. The palate initially has sweet fruit, then a rich spice cloud and also obvious alcohol, grippy tannin. Good potential for further ageing: currently the individual components still have a life of their own.
