The red wine Metochi Donta Red Mount Athos PDI, vintage 2021 from the winery Holy Monastery of Simonos Petras has been rated in 2024 by Peter Moser with 93 Falstaff points.
Dark ruby, deep core, subtle brightening on the rim. On the nose, fresh cherries, a spicy-minty note and subtle animalistic nuances. Elegant on the palate with pronounced fruit, juicy, black cherries, delicate notes of sour cherries, fresh acidic structure, ripe tannins, dark nougat and a persistent finish. A multi-faceted food wine with good length and definite ageing potential.
