The white wine Baron de Chirel Verdejo Viñas Centennarias, vintage 2021 from the winery Marqués de Riscal - Bodega Rueda has been rated in 2023 by Peter Moser with 95 Falstaff points.
On the nose some pineapple, damp sand, slightly buttery tones, some grape sugar, a touch of wood (Stockinger!). On the palate multilayered and dense, mealy phenolics, lively acidity, lots of juice and interplay despite light viscosity, deep fruit flavours. Has good length but still youthful. Slightly yeasty on the finish, with clearly mineral extract from the granite weathered soils. .
