The red wine Cepa Lebrel Rioja Crianza, vintage 2021 from the winery Pagos del Rey has been rated in 2025 by Ulrich Sautter with 89+ Falstaff points.
On the nose: milk and dark chocolate, sage candy and thyme, rum sultana and a fine ageing savouriness. Almost a faint undertone of Amontillado! The palate is soft and supple, flows smoothly and develops fine-grained, ripe tannins. The rather mild acidity is well integrated and emphasises the elegant, almost creamy texture.
