The red wine Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto Marcellino, vintage 2011 from the winery Rocca di Montegrossi has been rated in 2016 by Othmar Kiem with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Sangiovese from the region Chianti classico in Italy.
Brilliant, intense ruby with purple glints. Very fresh and crisp fruit of elderberry and dark cherry, some rosemary and thyme in the background. Concentrated and dense on the palate, plump rich fruit with sweet texture, unfolds with finely-meshed dense tannins, opens up well with a firm drive on the finish. It is still very young.
