The red wine Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna Vecchia DOCG, vintage 2013 from the winery San Polo has been rated in 2019 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Rich ruby with a slight garnet sheen. Intense and complex nose, full of ripe plum, cranberry and some raspberry, in the background light notes of truffle. Powerful and substantial on the palate, dark berry fruit, unfolds with powerful, vivid tannin, but then becomes quite brittle on the finish, clear oak overhang, still needs storage.
