The cava Segura Viudas Rosé Brut NV from the winery Segura Viudas has been rated in 2022 by Anne Krebiehl MW with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Trepat, Garnacha, Pinot Noir from the region Catalunya in Spain.
A lovely whiff of ripe red fruit hits the nose: there is tart redcurrant but also ripe cherry and a lifted note of candied grapefruit peel. The palate is frothy and has a lovely, pleasant phenolic edge that sits well with the fuller red fruit on the body. There is a resonance of both fresh and dried Morello cherry notes that is really lasting. The finish is beautifully dry and fresh.
