Relatively dark garnet, black colour core, orange rim. A mixture of dried fruit and nutty notes on the nose, with clear Madeira nuances, still quite impressive despite the clear oxidation. Sweet on the palate, fine spicy balsamic touch, looks like an Oloroso sherry, good length, subtle bitter note on the finish, fine chocolate on the aftertaste. It is a testimony to the former greatness of this wine, this bottle was probably anything but perfect, but still found favour with some tasters. (Drink).
