The red wine Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, vintage 2018 from the winery Tenuta Poggio il Castellare has been rated in 2023 by Othmar Kiem & Simon Staffler with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Bright ruby red. On the nose new wood barrels, vanilla, coconut, liquorice and delicate cherries. On the palate polished, with nice juiciness and fruit, currently still dominated by the use of wood and remains dry in the finish.
