The red wine Barbera d'Alba Superiore DOC, vintage 2020 from the winery Tre Pile has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 89 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Barbera from the region Piedmont in Italy.
Brilliant, intense ruby purple in colour. Opens with slightly savoury notes of beetroot and sugar cane molasses, with blackberry in the background. There's a lot of grippy tannin on the palate along with a striking acidity, plus lots of sour cherry fruit. The accentuated acidity makes the whole thing quite angular and brittle.
