The red wine Poggio al Leone Riserva Morellino di Scansano DOCG, vintage 2016 from the winery Famiglia Cecchi has been rated in 2021 by Othmar Kiem und Simon Staffler with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Bright garnet with brick-red reflections. Pronounced nose of cherry compote and small ripe currants, delicate cedar, coffee and smoked bacon, a hint of gingerbread. Plucky on the palate, spreads out beautifully, superficial tannins, wiry structure, shows character, very dry.
