The red wine Chianti Classico DOCG Vigna La Fornace Gran Selezione, vintage 2013 from the winery Villa Calcinaia - Conti Capponi has been rated in 2017 by Othmar Kiem with 96 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Bright ruby with a slight garnet sheen. Opens with pronounced spicy notes of cardamom, with some fresh cherry and pomegranate. Juicy and round on the palate, shows intense fruit and dense, rich tannins. Goes nicely into a deep, long finish, lots of fruit texture.
